Denying Self

In my quiet time with the Lord I was inquiring in my heart about my “stuff.” It’s too much to mention here, and dare I say not important, as every man has the weight of his own life – failures, interruptions, struggles and the more – to carry. My introspection went further regarding my destiny and how it’s much closer than ever, and within reach. Still, while there are days that I am excited and hopeful, there are days that are questionable. I suppose many of the faithful in the Holy Bible experienced the same. They wondered how the Creator -- the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- would use their weakness and inadequacies to bring about a glorious testimony painted with such color and vibrancy then they could have ever imagined.

Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.”(Luke 9:23-24)

My cross can be heavy at times with its rough edges chaffing at my flesh. It’s unfortunate, but it’s part of the journey. Denying my selfish desires, even those that seem good, but are contrary to His plan and purpose for my life is the commitment of a true disciple. No matter how much I want for something or think it okay, the Holy Spirit pricks my heart to choose His ways, because His direction is the only direction that will fully satisfy.

When we follow our own direction it leaves us empty with false sense of safety, but when we follow Jesus and loose our life to save it, we find true fulfillment in the promise of eternity – freedom in this life and in the next. Though the Biblical Disciples and Disciples in this century are often found in costly situations they are fearless, and live ultimately to serve God and people.

Have you considered the cost to deny self, take up your cross, and to follow Him?

I have—and it’s worth it!

Grow In Faith

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

Faith is what moves God—and faith believes what is before it’s ever manifested. Faith if tiny like a mustard seed can move a mountain. Mere words don’t move or motivate God in your direction. Mere words without faith as its fuel cannot shift or accelerate the supernatural; it’s only by faith that we receive.

Grow In Faith

If you want help of the divine kind I implore you to start working those spiritual muscles. Get in the Word of God and find out what He says through the God-breathed scriptures and think, talk, and agree with it.

I promise you, that as it is written, “with God all things are possible.”

Get Him involved and in the midst of your predicament becasue there is no dilemma He can’t demolish!  There is no sickness He can’t stop!  And there is no devil He can’t defeat!

None More Beautiful

"I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:1-4

There is none more beautiful than Jesus!

The One & Only True God

"Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: 'Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.'" John 17:1-3

Let us look closely at verse 3:"And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

Jesus is praying for the disciples in these verses above and explains eternal life -- that they may know the one and only true God.

There are many who hold the assurance of GOD -- a deity -- but it is more of a universal God for all. Meaning, many paths lead to GOD.

Jesus himself is explicit in saying that His Father is the only true God and that you must know Him and Jesus who He sent to be assured of eternity (paradise).

If your faith challenges a One True God then I invite you watch five remarkable testimonies of four men and one woman who now know Jesus as Lord and Savior. The common thread for these converts were that they were seeking to know God on a more intimate level with all their heart. Regardless of their geographic location, sin, or religious upbringing, Jesus in their native tongue made himself real to them. He then proclaimed that they belonged to Him and to follow Him. It was an experience that brought about change of the everlasting kind.

The Holy Bible -- the Words of God -- where Jesus prayed for YOU!

"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."" John 17:24-26
