Say Yes to God

There are many ways in which I can take the initiative daily to say "yes," to God. This morning was no exception. I packed up my car for some errands and headed to the local food bank.  I had a shopping bag full with odds and ends of non-perishalble items.  Some from cleaning out my cupboards along with large bags of cereal I purchased last night on sale especially for today's mission.

I drove up to the facility too early with eagerness, although to my surprise there were two ladies leaning on a post chatting.  I asked if they by chance were waiting too.

I waved them closer saying, "Oh good, I have some grocery bags for you to share."

They were relunctant at first and I could hear by their reply that they wanted to do the right thing.

"We'll give them to the folks inside when they open."

Smiling I shared how it was their blessing.

The blessing I received was when I handed over the few items, one woman shared how the other was low on coffee.  It's amazing how our cup of blessing can be shared with others with little sacrifice and inconvenience.

I am reminded how God asked Peter in the book of John chapter 21 verse 17 :"He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep."

Will you say yes to today?

Plugged In!

I heard once [and wrote it down], “That a new action brings new strength.”

Since October, I have attended a Christian Group of writers. Last week's meeting left me feeling more than good—it left me feeling empowered coupled with anticipation and excitement that could barely be tamed. I was on fire fueled with ideas from the valuable information shared and heartfelt encouragement.

"That's who you are!"

There is something of value when others in the faith get behind us and build us up. The world is so quick to tare down and point at our faults and failures that often we are shocked from the support we receive that we can even reject the purest of goodwill.

But not me. Not now.

I have gained a new strength with this new action. It has given me the courage to say with assurance "with God all things are possible," while taking giant steps towards my destiny.

Thanking God for his living extensions in the Body of Christ.

Prayer Sticks

"And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." Matthew 21:22

Praying for others has become a part of my daily routine, and though it was never "not" a part of my life, I have made a choice to be intentional about it.

Being the mother of a first grader, it is important to teach her by example my belief in God's Kingdom and its power, and one of the ways in doing so is sharing that prayer is important.

She has certainly caught on these past years and this month we took it a step further by creating with Craft sticks as a reminder to pray.

We have embellished the craft sticks using water colored paints, stickers, and fun looking letters and words.

Have fun with your kids in creating, and start building their Kingdom foundation in all things good—starting with prayer.

Pour in and pour out the goodness!

Alleluia!

It's the New Year, 2011, and time to share with the world my cup of goodness. No, I'm not perfect. Yes, I've failed...many times, but God is faithful in keeping me grounded through it all. He reminds me, that though I have feet of clay, I am first a spiritual being having a human experience, and His grace is sufficient.
